Hubby and I went out on a lunch date yesterday to Fridays.
Remember back in the day when Fridays had super peppy servers with all the flair? Our server was a throwback to the golden days of Fridays flair. Flair = fun, right? That's what we learned from Office Space. What he lacked in actual flair (because Fridays is far to upscale for flair these days) he made up for in enthusiasm. Flair aura, if you will.
"Hey guys, I'm Todd, I'll be takin' care of ya today. Can I start you off with somethin' to drink? Perhaps one of our famous lemonade slushes [editors note: famous in what circles?]."
"Water for me." "Sweet tea, please."
"Good good! I'll be right out with those beverages, guys!" *knocks on the table with his fingertips*
You know. One of those guys. And if he was legally able to buy an adult beverage, I'd be shocked, is how young he looked. Clearly he took his Fridays training very seriously. He probably took notes. He probably keeps a training crib sheet tucked safely inside his notebook he uses to write down people's orders.
Anyway, we order, he brings our food, we eat, it's good and all. He checks on us 14 million times and refills our drink and does everything right, even if he's sort of driving me crazy with all the fake enthusiasm for the state of our lunch.
He brings the check and my hubby pulls out the Discover (card that pays you back).
This is where I need to tell you a critical piece of information about my husband. He has a name that has become popular as a girls name in the recent past. Often, if you do a search for his name, several young teenage girls will also show up in the results. He's used to it by now, but I still get real pissy about it the same way I do when someone calls me Allison or Amber instead of Amanda.
Todd the server comes back with the card and stands next to me while looking at my husband and says the following:
"So, does [insert my husband's name here] know she is paying for your lunch today?"
Silence.
Crickets.
You could hear a pin drop.
We weren't sure what to say. Was he suggesting we stole the credit card? Was he trying to be funny because my husband handed him the card with what he thought had my name?
Hubby said slowly, "well. That....is...me...."
The kid turned about 18 shades of red and asked to see my husband's ID, since the credit card does say "See ID" on the back. I'm not sure why he didn't just see ID to start out with. Maybe he was just trying to be personable. Maybe he knew I was getting the afternoon sleepies and I needed something to get my blood boiling. He definitely failed at the first and succeeded at the second.
Here is how I felt about it:
The take-away here? Use your context clues. If a man pulls a credit card with a basketball design on it out of his wallet, it's probably his. Sometimes men have girlie sounding names and always see ID first, just in case.

My biggest fear has 6 legs
When I was younger, my biggest fear was failure.
I was always worried that I wouldn't be good enough, that I'd be broke, or fired, or dumped. All that equaled failure to me, and it was terrifying.
Then I got dumped. Then I graduated from college, and then graduated from college again with my Masters degree. Then I got married. Then I got laid off. So, once you've experienced a good amount of both successes and failures and realize that it's not the end of the world when you do fail and that you CAN succeed, it's time to get a new biggest fear.
Around that time we moved to Florida, and a terrifying new world opened to me: a world with lots of legs, antennae and pre-historic looking exoskeletons.
The world of roaches.
Now, nothing in this world frightens me as much as cockroaches. Lizards? Love em. Mice? I mean, not my favorite but whatever. Snakes? Please stay away, but I am only mildly scared.
When I see a cockroach, I scream like I'm being stabbed with a butter knife, and it's not just one scream, it's a long, drawn out, "there-is-a-serial-killing-clown-in-our-garage-please-someone-help" scream. I run and slam doors. I refuse to step foot in our garage where they love to chill near the trash can. Sometimes I scream at the thought of them being there. If they are in the house FOR-GET it. I will have a panic attack on your ass, TRUST ME.
Back in WV it seems like we had an ant problem every spring, and as much as they grossed me out, I always sort of felt sorry for them. They were just harmless babies of the insect world, trying to find a delicious meal of cereal or rice to take back to their queen. And good on them for picking up that giant piece of cat food that's 14 billion times their size and carrying it all the way back to their nest.
But cockroaches? To me, cockroaches are a sign of dirty-ness and living in squalor. Cockroaches are scavengers and harbingers of disease.
And they are also apparently all around and COMPLETELY NORMAL. One of my co-workers has them in her mailbox, so when she opens it they scatter and then she reaches in and gets her mail. OVER MY DEAD BODY would I EVER get the mail again. I'd be all, credit card companies, sorry, but you're just going to have to wait for my payment because the cockroaches are currently holding my mail hostage with their tiny little feet and 18 kneecaps. Sick.
Apparently there is nothing you can do -- they are just a part of life down there in the dirty South (is THAT why it's called the dirty South??). I was talking about (what I believe to be) our cockroach infestation and what we were planning on doing to about it and my work friend said, "well good luck with that. Nothing helps. They'll leave in the winter."
O.M.G.
Here is a chart to express my hatred of cockroaches:
TRUE STORY ALERT: This weekend I was home alone, right? And so I was getting ready to shower before bed, took my contacts out, turned the water on and noticed A GIANT COCKROACH on the wall above the shower. I called my husband and was sobbing about this darn cockroach because what am I supposed to do? It's my biggest fear COME TO LIFE and staring me in the face. I asked him to come home from his conference, but when he told he he couldn't do that, I had him walk me step by step through the process of killing the cockroach dead. It included multiple steps, starting with "throw a magazine at it" and "hit it with a shoe".
Then after I killed it, I put on my glasses and discovered it was actually a beetle.
IT COULD HAVE BEEN A COCKROACH, you guys. You have to be diligent about those nasty things.
According to British researchers at the University of Nottingham's School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, cockroaches could be the key to fending off harmful, drug-resistant bacteria (DO NOT CLICK ON THIS IF YOU ARE TERRIFIED OF COCKROACHES OR GROSSED OUT BY BUGS).
I'm sorry, but e coli is one billion and a half times better than cockroaches.
What is your biggest fear? Do you hate insects? What do you think is worse than cockroaches?

Wordless Wednesday except with words: Savannah!
It's almost back-to-school time for my hubby, and when summer begins to draw to a close, we've had a tradition of taking a mini-vacay the last weekend before he heads back. I had a half day Friday and after a nice lunch and nap, we decided to go to Savannah for the weekend. We're only about 3 and a half hours from the city, so it's a nice place to go -- beautiful, good food, far enough away that it feels like you're on vacation but not so far that you feel like you're going to kill your spouse on the drive back.
As you'll recall, we don't stay in nice hotels. Like ever. Like now it's sort of our "thing". This particular Days Inn was about 10 minutes from the historic district and had all the charm of a college dorm room but with none of the booze. Oh wait, there was booze at the "Hercules Bar and Grill", a round building surrounded by windows and Christmas lights, placed in the middle of a man-made pond. And let me tell you, was the Hercules jumpin' on the daily. It's like there was literally nowhere else to go so why not head down to the Hercules for a cold 'Nati? Have at it, friends.
The room -- oh, you guys, the room -- was judged by our normal standard of "clean" i.e. no bodily fluids visible to the naked eye. It was a square white box, decorated with generic hotel artwork and dated bedspread. We had a fridge, although it was covered with rust (but clean inside). The TV had plenty of channels. There was a couch and a toilet and a shower with a shower curtain. I mean pretty much the lap of luxury except for the Daddy Long Legs (that my husband claimed was actually a deadly, poisonous spider) crawling up the wall. So there was that, but on the other hand, it only cost us $30 per night AND had continental breakfast. So you win some, you lose some.
OH, and I almost forgot to tell you about the clock: Hubby picked it up to set it for the next day and the top pulled off, so all you could see were the clock guts, but it STILL WORKED because it was a clock from 1982 and they don't make them like they used to, huh? At any rate, there was no way to set an alarm. I really know how to pick'em.
What site am I on, TripAdvisor? She's needs to get back to the story. I'm tired of hearing about her crappy hotel. OK you guys, no need to be rude, just one more hotel related thing, and I promise you'll like it. Here's a graph:
The trip was really fun, and if you haven't been to Savannah and get the opportunity to go, please do. It's just fascinating and very lovely. Don't go in August because in addition to those things, it's also very hot and sister can't BUY a breeze in that city in the summer.
And then the most exciting part of the trip....I got to meet Allyson from Magnolias and Mimosas! She lives in the Dirty South now, is only a hot minute from Savannah and was on her way to Charleston to meet the one and only Salt (which I'm so bummed I didn't get meet her too, but hopefully in October). Maybe we were all inspired by some people and their recent bloggy meet up.
Anyway, we ate lunch at a sweet little bakery and had the best time! Go visit her blog.
So that was my weekend. Anybody been to Savannah before? What are your favorite things to do there?

Chris Harrison is available for marriage counseling, if y'all are interested
Oh my stars and garters, mercy me, was that a hot mess up on the ABC Monday night. Unfortch, I was too busy playing the new lego Harry Potter game on our Wii (because I'm a massive nerd) to watch the Bachelorette. I know, I'm sure everyone is disappointed, but you're just going to have to find your B'ette fix elsewhere this week. I do know that Ali loves Portugal because it's "sunny and warm" and there was lots of face sucking and spit swapping and then Ty was sent packing. Happy trails to you, Ty. Hope you find that perfect woman who is ready to stay home and cater to your every whim.
Looks like Ty has some stiff competition for that particular kind of lovely lady after learning more about Jake the Snake. I just caught the replay on ABC.com and I missed a doosey. Like I don't even know where to start.
First, in all seriousness, I really felt bad for Vienna. I was NOT a Vienna supporter in the least. I was all about Gia, then Tenley. I thought Vienna acted childish at best, malicious at worst. However, I think that Vienna is really a small town girl who might have a few issues of her own with relationships, and truly thought this was going to work out. Delusional? Maybe. But I think she saw herself as a Trista and Ryan or Molly and Jason -- famous together, famous for being a couple. I don't think she anticipated being second fiddle to a man who was clearly seeking fame. She got duped. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm sure she enjoyed her time in the spotlight and I'm sure most of this stemmed from jealousy on her part. But I still don't think this was at all what she expected.
Jake is disgusting to me. He was disgusting before; not physically, but something about his behavior -- the way he treated the contestants, the thinly veiled insincerity, the really pretty exterior that seemed to have something rotten inside -- really bothered me. Let's be honest here, there's not one person who signs a Bachelore/tte contract who isn't ultimately in it for their 15 minutes. So, within that aspect of the show, there are different levels of famewhoring. There's the legitimate crazies; then the people who are relatively normal and maybe just want a couple episodes on TV for funsies; then models or singers or actresses who hope to make this a springboard for something better; then the people who desire fame so much they will stop at nothing, including lying and destroying real-life, legitimate personal relationships. That's Jake.
It was gross to me how condescending and mean he was to Vienna. I'm sure she's not the easiest person to deal with, but honestly, give her a break. She's not undermining you every time she has a difference in opinion. They told a story about him giving her directions, and then she still got out the GPS, and then he threw it in the backseat. What if she's bad with directions? That's not undermining him. Get thee a dictionary, Jake. I hate to say it, but it was borderline emotional abuse -- like if he's going to do that to a girl on national TV who is basically in a fake relationship with him, what's he going to do to a normal girl he meets at the gym?
It seemed pretty clear to me that he wants a girl who will stand there and look pretty while he does whatever shenanigans will bring him the most fame.
My favorite part of the whole thing was Chris Harrison. Dude works hard for the money and deserves every penny. He's part pre-school teacher, part therapist, part marriage counselor and part camp counselor. Lots of faces to Chris Harrison. He kicked off the show by saying, "Is this crap going to continue? This he said/she said stuff?" I'm like aw yeah, this is going to be good. Later in the show, Jake and Vienna were having words over whether or not he "made her" leave her dog, and if he did or did not, and Chris, who was completely over them in a very real way, says, "Nobody cares about the dog." Nobody can get famewhores to shut up faster than Chris B. Harrison, y'all.
So in conclusion, Jake sucks, Vienna sucks a little less, Chris sucks only slightly for being in this mess in the first place, and we only have one non-sucky person in this whole group, as shown on this graph:
Also, I'm officially over Jake and all things Jake related. I hearby announce today, July 7 2010, the last day you'll ever read about Jake on this blog. I'm done contributing to the mess that is his life. I'm still all about Ali, so you non-Bachelorette readers who have stuck with me through this journey, bless your little hearts, it'll be over soon.

And the wiener is....
So, it's Monday again. Somebody tell me how THAT happened.
I realize I totally left my blog readers hanging after the big baby announcement. That'll teach you non-Tweeters to hurry up and get a Twitter already because I talked about it on there. I was all ready to write it on Friday, but things started getting REAL busy and I didn't have time.
And the big news is....
IT'S A BOY!
This is *yawn* old news for most of y'all, so here's a little something new...the results of the poll:
It was a dead even 15 to 15, with one vote for kitten. I wonder who voted for kitten. It was my dear sissy, who is excited for her nephew, but does enjoy kittens. He will be even BETTER than a kitten!
We're a family of girls. In fact, on my Dad's side there is my sister and I, my cousin Michelle and her daughter Gracie. I don't know what to do with a boy, although that's what I wanted. I guess a lot of sports related things? I also want to throw out there that I find it just slightly concerning that there is a picture of his little wiener on my fridge with an arrow pointing to it that says "IT'S A BOY!!!", courtesy of my ultrasound tech. Combined with the fact that I can't stop calling it his little wiener, he's coming into a pretty Klassy family.
I am still going to do a giveaway but I need to put all the guesses into the randomzier thing and decide what I'm going to give away. That will be happening soon.
So enjoy your Mondays, remember that our country's birthday is this weekend and it's time to drink beer, eat hot dogs and set off explosives (only two of those three things I can do this year, although I'll make up for it next year by dressing my son in an Uncle Sam costume, holla!), and remember, tomorrow is Bachelorette Tuesday!

You asked for it, you got it!
Sorry for the lack of blogs lately. It's been busy time at work and sleepy time in the evenings, and that doesn't even include laundry time or fixing dinner time or relaxing on the couch time. OR PACKEY TIME FOR MY CRUISE. That happens next week and guess what? No Bachelorette recap this Tuesday, although I am planning on writing a recap this weekend based on what I believe will happen, schedule it for Tuesday, and let you guys tell me how close I am. Sound like a plan?
So, last Friday when I was slacking on my blog, I wrote about my pager and it was unanimously decided that I should have made some of my famous Amanda Awesome (c) Charts and Graphs. I realize now that I completely missed the boat on this, but as I know y'all love you some Charts and Graphs, I created a few for you to really grasp how I feel about my pager.

Feast your eyes on that little beauty. Try to forget about it, see if you can keep it out of your nightmares. Let it burn into your subconscious. That scuttle and screech will echo in your brain forever. Trust.
Hope you all have a fab weekend and I'll be back with some live posts next week. Hopefully I can get some bloggy buds to fill in while I'm gone. While I'm out, check out the cool giveaways:

I realize now that I completely missed the boat on this, but as I know y'all love you some Charts and Graphs, I created a few for you to really grasp how I feel about my pager.
This is a new type of graph I just tried out...I love the colors.
I have this bloggy friend, Sarah P from Naked Cupcakes, and she's a pretty amazing blogger. A month or so ago she wrote a blog and included the most terrifyingly awesome mythical creature known to man: the Shrimpanzee. It's half shrimp, half chimpanzee. Like where would she even come up with something so funny? I laughed literally out loud, not even the LOL you tell people when you have nothing else to say. So then for the rest of the day, every time I thought about Shrimpanzee I would giggle. I tried to tell my husband but he's all, "Your blog life is so weird." and I'm all, YOUR blog life is weird!
To continue the weirdness, somehow the idea came about on Twitter that the Shrimpanzee needed to become an award. Who wouldn't want such a majestic creature gracing her blog award page? Certainly not this girl. I campaigned hard for it. I even follow Friday-ed her by her lonesome to suck up a little.
And all my hard work was totally worth it:
Hope you all have a fab weekend and I'll be back with some live posts next week. Hopefully I can get some bloggy buds to fill in while I'm gone. While I'm out, check out the cool giveaways:
- Free Money from Jessalyn at Cape Cod Awesome! $25 Amazon gift card, as long as you buy that creepy smoking baby or some other random (OK, not really a stipulation, but how cool would it be if you did use it for something random?)
- Salt at Salt Says is giving away this adorable owl pendant!
Check out these lovelies, but not if you're a lucky wiener because I want to win.
How do you feel about the Shimpanzee? Scared? Amused? A mix of these two emotions?

Jazz hands come to Florida
My good buddy Hutch over at Be Awesome Instead has been trying to start a revolution. A revolution of sass. It all started with her guest post from Chicken , who suggested we stop taking boring pictures and start jazzing the place up! So since then, I've been on a mission to bring a little jazz into my own photos.
I used to go with the thumbs up in my pictures:
This was taken during our first trip to Disney as Florida residents when we visited four parks in one day. It was our 4 peat and this quarter was my reward. So of course I gave it a thumbs up.
The thumbs up is OK. It's adequate. It represents how I am feeling and makes me feel less awkward than when I just have to stand around and look at a camera. but there was just something missing...
But then I started noticing a trend, and my own personal version of jazz hands, the "wave with your mouth open" pose. It's both tacky and unflattering!
But I have gotten a little jazz handsy over the years, as evidenced by this gem from my sister's wedding rehearsal:
Listen, I'm all kinds of sassy up in that church, y'all. I can even do jazz hands while holding my fake bouquet! This one was sort of an inadvertant jazz hand pose -- sort of a "mouth open waving"/jazz hands hybrid. After Hutch started the revolution, I knew I had to shape up in the posing department:
This was at the All Star Sports Resort at Disney, and while these little ducks are trying to hit and catch a baseball, I'm showing off my 10 little photo pals.
I forced my husband to take some jazz hands pictures after our anniversary dinner last week, you know, for the cause:
And even Sushi the cat got into it!
He's extra good at it because he has extra thumbs. I'm sure he'll want to do that again VERY soon.
So expect more jazz hands in the coming weeks, especially after my sister and I take loads of jazz hands pictures on our cruise next month. If you write your own, let Hutch know so she can link it, and tweet about it with the hashtag #jazzhandsrevolution. Let's start something, people!
As if you need more encouragement, I present you with this graph of things that are awesome. You can't argue with graphs. It's science:
In other news, the Bachelorette started last night. Who is watching? I'm there for every white hot second of that mess. You should go read Jamie's take on it over at Daydream Believer.
As for me, my thoughts can be best summed up in list form, from a conversation I had with my friend JP today:

JP: First of all, nice weave. So there you go, my thoughts on the first 15 minutes of the Bachelorette. I'm going to see if Jamie wants to join forces for some Bachelorette snark on Mondays.
Me: Second of all, if you're going to have a weave, can it please be in a color that occurs in nature? "yellow" is not a hair color.
JP: Third of all, wear a dress that fits.
JP: fourth of all get your shoulders out of your ears.
Me: Fifth of all, shut the heck up with your stupid laugh.
Happy Tuesday! *JAZZ HANDS*

Let's talk about value. Hamburger value.
Where did this week go? I just realized I hadn't posted a blog since last Friday. It's like in my head I was blogging but in reality I wasn't.
So, sorry about that. Besides work business, I've been suffering from a FUN HANGOVER after our weekend trip down Orlando way. This was our last hurrah because our seasonal passes expire and we aren't going to renew right now because of the BABAY.
I'd like to tell y'all a little story about our dinner in Orlando Sunday on the way back at a place called Five Guys Burgers. It's a chain, but I don't think there are all that many locations. They sell hamburgers with lots of different toppings, thick cut french fries (with optional cajun seasoning), I think hot dogs and drinks. That's it.
The walls are all decorated with their own kudos. Like every time they were mentioned in any magazine when the chain started, the owners made copies for every franchise to hang on the walls, and when I say that I mean ALL walls, like all up and down the counter, in the bathrooms, wherever there is a vertical surface there is either a copied newspaper article or quotes from said articles in 1000 point red type. It's a little on the tacky side; I mean, just let the tasty burgers speak for themselves, ya know?
The most mind boggling thing about the decor is the articles don't proclaim them to be the best TASTING burgers or most UNIQUE burgers, but the best VALUE in burgers. There are two problems with this:
1. Walmart stuff is value. Publix bogos are a value. Redbox machines are a value. But there's something about a restaurant focusing on value rather than taste that just seems wrong to me. I mean, we can all agree that McDonalds hamburgers wont' break the bank, but we can also agree that they will make you feel like death. Right?
2. FIVE GUYS BURGERS IS NOT A VALUE. Join me as I weave this tale of overpriced food:
Hubby and I were tired, cranky and ready to get home. It was 9 and they closed at 10 so I'm sure they felt the same. We walked in and the first thing the guy said to us was, "WE'RE OUT OF CHEESE!" like that was the determining factor in us staying or leaving (as that was no option because it was the only place open). And I'm all, well that's a bummer, I guess I'll just get something beside cheese. Hubby ordered his bacon hamburger and I ordered mine with mushrooms and onions. Then the guys says to me, "WE'RE OUT OF MUSHROOMS TOO! EVERYTHING BUT MUSHROOMS AND CHEESE!" I'm all eye-rolly with him but changed my order to onions and mustard only. Then Hubby tries to pay with our Discover card and he says, "Hm, it says 'not a valid transaction, THAT'S SO WEIRD" and about that time Hubby realized they dont' take Discover card.
Cearly we're dealing with Einstein over here working at Five Guys, but I decided to go into mini-meltdown mode and said "You've GOT to be kidding me right now. I have to walk away." I sat down and started steaming about it mumbling about how a HAMBURGER PLACE can possibly run out of cheese. There wasn't a store you could run out to and grab a hunk of cheese before your supply truck rolls in? No? not even the Quiznos next door?
Hubby brings the food to the table and hands me the receipt for.....$17 BUCKS.
Excuse me, but in what universe is $17 for two burgers, one fry and one drink a value? I'm going to refer back to my breakfast chart from last blog:
Before we left, I went to the bathroom and discovered why Five Guys were so delusional in thinking the food there was a good value. I was washing my hands and reading one of the articles when I noticed the publishing date -- 1996. The article stated that Five Guys had one heck of a burger and a good value, too: only $1.75 for two big, juicy, fresh, hand-pattied burgers. I read some others -- 1990, 2001, 1998 -- not one media outlet has proclaimed them BEST VALUE in at least 8 years. Maybe it's because one hamburger now costs $4.50! I mean let me just hand you my wallet and pin number so you can take all of my money! It's good but not that good! Bev's Better Burgers in this podunk little city near us is just as good -- if not better -- and her burgers cost $2!
My rage turned to pity when I saw this:

It should be easy to understand why I had such a fit. I feel like a chart would also best represent my feelings after this meal:
Before we left, I went to the bathroom and discovered why Five Guys were so delusional in thinking the food there was a good value. It just.....it explains a lot. I'll leave it at that.
Then yesterday we were on a quest to find some shorts that I can button and saw a building under construction that looked eerily like the Five Guys decor...sure enough: Gainesville is getting a Five Guys. I am encouraging all my friends here to mortgage their houses so they can try it at least once.
Have y'all heard of this place? What do you think?

A few Friday Funnies to end this week
A conversation between me and my Husband.
Scene: We're laying in bed watching GhostHunters in silence.
Me: You know, I think my favorite kind of Jelly Belly is the hot buttered popcorn.
Hubby: *face palm*
Me: What?
Hubby: That is so random.
Me: It's not random. I was sitting here thinking about it before I said something to you.
Hubby: Again, what's not random about that?
Tis my life, y'all.
---------------------------------
When I was in grad school I was a teaching assistant. There were about eight of us who entered into indentured servitude for up to two years. In return, we got what equaled out to be $2 an hour, paid tuition and our own office. Which we had to share. Usually only two to three of us had office hours each day. One semester I had office hours with my friend Ali and another grad student whose name I will never forget but I am going to call him E.
E was just a little weird. He was a terrible teacher and just plain mean to his students. The rest of us were all, Whelp! you tried! here is a B for your efforts! But he was hardCORE. I think he gave his whole class Cs just out of pure spite. He held back his thinly veiled hatred of the human race just enough for us to not outwardly hate him, but he let that hate all hang out with his kids. It was truly tragic. For them. And for Ali and I when he was in a particularly bad mood during office hours.
Anyway. One day during office hours, Ali wasn't able to be there, so it was just E and I hanging out. I got the short end of the stick and taught 8 am classes. I skipped breakfast and was existing solely on the breakfast of champions -- coffee.
I said to E, "I sure could use some breakfast right about now. They should provide a continental breakfast for us! ahahah! LOLZ!"
E replied...and I will never till the end of my days forget the way he said it..."I hate continental breakfasts. I hate them."
*record scratches* Me: E, what do you mean you hate continental breakfasts? What is there to hate?
E: I just do not like them. They are never good. It's always just coffee and donuts and that's it.
Me: That's not ALWAYS true. Sometimes they have awesome breakfasts. You've never had a continental breakfast that has, like biscuits and gravy and those waffle machines?
E: Never. I hate continental breakfasts.
This just made me increasingly angry. Like who hates free food? Rich people maybe, and he certainly wasn't rich or he wouldn't be participating in the slave labor that was the teaching assistant program.
I thought, maybe he doesn't realize it's free.
Me: E, it's FREE though. I mean, even if it's nothing but pastries and coffee, you didn't have to *pay* for them. It's included in the price of your hotel.
E: I don't care. I hate it. I would rather pay.
Me: You'd turn down a free meal?
E: Yes. I hate continental breakfasts.
Me: I have to walk away right now.
I am 90% sure he was just trying to instigate because he hated the world, but to this day, every time I see a continental breakfast I say to my Hubby, "Remember E!? And how he HATE continental breakfasts? Well I'm going to take extra pastries JUST TO PROVE HIM WRONG."
I made some graphs to prove how awesome continental breakfasts are:
Therefore:
See how my anger increases as the price goes up?
Happy Weekend, y'all. Enjoy it and give your Mommy's extra love on Mother's Day!
