| This picture has to be a sign of the Apocalypse. |
Firstly, it turns out that the Situation himself, Mr. Mike Sorrentino, PHD, Esquire, President of the Misogynists of America club, man about town, did not actually follow my husband on Twitter. It's actually a fan of Mike Sorrentino who just tweets about his performance on Dancing With the Stars. I wish there was more to that story and trust me, I tried. I followed the person myself and attempted to bait her with derogatory comments about DWTS but alas, nothing. It's really disappointing, but the good, Twitter news is that Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus are now following me on Twitter, so get your Christmas wishes and dreams into my comments section ASAP.
Secondly, I'd like to delve in a little deeper to the nickname "the Situation". There are things that can be considered a situation and other things that are not so much a situation.
SITUATION: Some baked beans that have been sitting in your fridge for about a month and a half and have become a really disgusting science experiment.. Neither you nor your husband have the iron clad fortitude to dump out the beans into the trash and clean the Tupperware, and at the same time are so committed to your Tupperware that you don't want to just toss it. Thus, a situation.
NOT A SITUATION: Mike Sorrentino's abdominal muscles.
SITUATION: Being 8 months pregnant and not being able to physically roll over in bed without substantial effort, and then you realize your phone is in the other room, so the options are to use every last ounce of energy and effort to get the phone or play "When will my phone die?" all day the next day. Thus, a situation.
NOT A SITUATION: Mike Sorrentino's "little Mike Sorrentino" if you catch my drift.
SITUATION: You're an investment banker who lost his job and now has to deliver pizzas for Papa Johns. You're driving down the street and realize something.....is missing....and that's when you realize you dropped the pizza hot bag or whatever it's call, WITH a pizza, in the middle of a busy intersection AT rush hour, and have to park your car in traffic, sprint 500 yards in your Papa John's shirt and visor, pick up the pizza and hope nobody realizes that you screwed up probably the easiest job in the world. Thus, a situation that I actually witnessed yesterday after work.
NOT A SITUATION: Relying on your quickly fleeing and questionable "good looks" to pick up women instead of having a personality in any way, shape or form.
OMG look what I found in my search for some Mike Sorrentino pictures on Google Machine!
| Epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
The phrase "What situation, exactly?" has blown up like WILDFIRE on the Interwebs (and, I'd like to believe helped me get promoted in the nerd mafia). I'd like you to just try it on for size. Let it burn into your brain like so many STDS burn up the urethra's of the Jersey Shore folks. It fits almost all situations. See what I did there? Some examples:
AT WORK: "Shoot." "What's the situation, exactly?" "My fax won't go through."
WHILST WATCHING TV: "Who do you want to be kicked off DWTS?" "I want the situation to be that The Situation gets kicked off." *which is an actual conversation my sister and I just had via text*
I'm sure y'all can think of more.
BIG BLOGWORTHY NEWS. Thursday, get ready for a first on this site....my first sponsored, coast-to-coast, taste test VLOG. That's right, a vlog. I had to wait for a good hair day before I committed to that mess. Get READY to taste it!

You gotta make The Situation a regular weekly post or something!!
Can't wait to see your vlog!
I'm just saying, I deliver pizzas too, and I would NEVER....I can't even comprehend HOW...the window would have to be OPEN or something...maybe he threw it out the window in a fit of rage and then changed his mind?
My current situation? Laughing a crapload at this post.
p.s. So sorry to hear about your tupperware.
Excellent examples of situations!
You are my favorite blogger ever.
I think I've used that phrase in two posts already this week.
But don't worry! I linked to you my little promoted one.
PS Toss the Tupperware. You'll sleep easier.
You just made my day with that picture you found. There is a serious fashion situation going on there.
In the picture at the top of the post, he looks like he's enjoying the smell of one of his own farts.
Just wanted you to know I loved that you used "Get ready to taste it!" That only brings back amazing moments of stories from a special someone in college.
Yep, toss the Tupperware. It's infested with microbes or something bad. Trust me! I love your situations. Felt so bad for the pizza guy. Damn! I have lots of "situations" but am so lazy I can't think through the situationness of them logically.
I don't think i can watch that show until he's off... that's how much he bugs me.
Can't wait til your vlog!!!! And, GAH, could I use a good hair day!!
That picture could be on Awkward Family Photos. Can't wait for the vlog.
I asked my husband during the performance Monday night why anyone would name themselves "The Situation." He didn't have any words and he has an answer for everything.
My current situation: I just peed my pants from the excitement of your first vlog!
Toss the tupperware for sure. No amount of washing will get that memory of those nasty baked beans to go away and thus would end my relationship with that piece of tupperware.
The Situation has a serious situation and it is called too many STDs and even some that don't have names yet!
Also I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the new bachelor!!
I'm very curious how old The Situation actually is, but I feel like taking the time to actually find out would be wrong.
Looks like you have the situation under control. Can't wait to see the vlog, and I only do vlogs on good hair days as well. I think it is a rule.
you are absolutely right! your phrase is epic and taking off!
i love that The Situation is on DWTS, and i expect weekly posts about him until the kid pops, kay?
Can we have an Asshat of the Week posting, please? So many, so little time!
This completely cracked me up! He's such a lame ass.
I can't believe you're getting so close to the baby being here!!!!! How exciting!
So funny! Because of your earlier blog this week, I actually tuned in to DWTS to find out who this guys is. I can't imagine anyone I would want to know less! I must be getting very unhip because apart from the anti-christ trio you picture, I don't know who these people are!
The Situation is an asshat.
That is all the examples we need....
We have tried to watch DWTS this season but the ridiculous amount of travel + no cable at the KY home has really = no DWTS action. At all. And I was totally tuning in for The Situation, and of course, Bristol (the girl, not the city). Speaking of which, I will pay you in new tupperware if you name your son Atlanta, Miami, Denver, or Hobokken. I'm eagerly awaiting this vlog....although...seeing as we're driving BACK to GA today, I probably won't get to see it until tomorrow. But it looks like YouTube is fighting you anyway. BOO!
I have a situation on my hands. Watching The Situation on DWTS has actually resulting in my not thiking The Situation is quite the douchebag I thought he was. Do I actually like The Situation?! Gasp!
I feel like my whole life is a lie.
